History
The Nursing Department was established in 1997 as part of the Yusuf Şerefoğlu School of Health Sciences at Gaziantep University. It first began undergraduate education in the Fall Semester of the 1997-1998 academic year. With the establishment of Kilis 7 December University in 2007, the Yusuf Şerefoğlu School of Health Sciences, where the department was located, was transferred from Gaziantep University to Kilis 7 December University.
Following the closure of the School of Health Sciences and the establishment of the Faculty of Health Sciences in its place, as per the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2018/12001 published in the Official Gazette dated July 6, 2018, and numbered 30470, the Nursing Department became affiliated with the Yusuf Şerefoğlu Faculty of Health Sciences and continues its high-level education, scientific research, and publication activities.
General Information and Aims
The Nursing Department; Our aim is to train professional nurses who can plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on evidence-based practices, necessary for the protection, improvement, recovery, and rehabilitation of individual, family, and community health.
The duration of education in our department is 4 years, and the language of instruction is Turkish. Our curriculum consists of a wide range of subjects including basic medical sciences, nursing profession courses, and general culture courses. Our students have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice through clinical applications in modern simulation laboratories and affiliated healthcare institutions.
As the Nursing Department of Yusuf Şerefoğlu Faculty of Health Sciences, our goal is to graduate qualified nurses who are committed to ethical values, capable of critical thinking, embrace lifelong learning, adaptable to change, possess leadership qualities, and are sensitive to public health.
